Trust

According to the dictionary trust means a person whom or a thing on which one relies and thinking about that meaning, what is the first thing that pops into your head?

Well for me is friendship. If you give a survey to random people asking them what is the first thing that pops into their head when you read them the meaning,
I'm sure most of the adults would say family and for youths its friends. Its pretty interesting how roughly the same age groups think alike.

Anyway back to trust. There is a phrase that says never trust anyone but yourself.
Anyone? I think us being humans can trust anyone quite easily because when we make friends its not like we're going to be suspicious of the person through out the whole day right?

Or observing the person closely just to see if he or she can be trusted.
Picture this. You and your friend is sitting on beach but you've only known your friend for about a week but have been going out everything for about 2 hours. Then one night both of you got really bored but are glad you guys met each other so to get to know each other better you guys started sharing personal stories of your life. Personal. Can you see how easily we can trust someone? And I do realise that after sometime because that senario mostly happens to me but I guess at that period of time when its happening it just feels so right. Now for family, there is always invasion of privacy. And its mostly the parents trying to invade the child's privacy.

Yes it could be our fault that we don't
share what we do or the people we hang out with but have they ever asked? Have they ever showed how understanding they can be for us to trust them and confident enough to share with them our problem? Or are they always screaming at us and expect us to share our problems with them and having a mindset that they will be there for us? Because saying and doing are very different. Or what about your siblings? You guys do almost everything together but half of the time they rat you out and you get into trouble with your parents but no you never learn your mistake. Afew weeks later you'll still tell your siblings your secrets and probably having a mindset that he or she will keep your secret. I guess the bottom line is that once we know the person we can trust the person really easily but then again we always don't know the person well enough and always end up regretting but I guess that's life.
