Well the same reason why you would want super powers. To defend yourself, your love ones and everything at your convenience.
Of course being super heroes they still need to blend in with the modern world by looking "human" so that the whole
world won't shun them. And being human, danger is out there just waiting to get them but little do they know
how "inhuman" a human can be. Picture a thug trying to lure wolverine to a dark cold ally hoping he could hit jackpot on him
and wolverine probably laughing and making a joke out of it in his mind. Still not thinking about making a move on the thug
probably out of curiousity. Next thing you know it, you see the thug running for his life, shouting
for help like a mummy's boy, wetting himself at the same time.
And for catwoman, well who wouldn't want to be a hot babe by day and a crime fighting superhero by night?
She is the defination of a "package". And I dare say she is one of the most independent woman I've known.
Think about it, she doesn't exactly have any super powers, she just have flexibility like any gymnast would. The only thing
she fights with is her whip like any cowboy would have or could do what she can do. And yet in her own unique way,
she can still make people fear her and she can still put villians behind bars.
Why not superman or wonderwoman ?
Well because they all have their weakness. Yes they are stronger and they can blend in with our world too. In fact,
they blend in better than we do but why didn't I pick them? Because even though they're so strong and so idolised,
they are so much weaker on the inside. What do I mean? The smallest thing like a green rock from space could
bring them down to the ground like as if they were carrying the weight of the titanic on their shoulders. Unlike wolverine
or catwoman, they are so human that their weakness isn't that easy to find.
And those are heroes to me.
